OVERVIEW
Travelling in the town of Yogyakarta is not complete if we did not set foot in
Malioboro. Malioboro is the most famous street in
Yogyakarta, because its the main street in town. Malioboro street area is always crowded with tourists from
various countries.
GET THERE
Malioboro location is not far from Tugu Railway Station. In the north of the station there is a monument, it’s a symbol of this gudeg city. The travelers who
use train to Yogyakarta, would be easier to reach Malioboro shopping center. You can also take a walk or ride a “becak” or ride a
four wheel vehicles horse-drawn carts called
“andong” or “delman”. But the best way to take in the sights of Malioboro is by walk. You
don’t need to use a car to go
around the Malioboro.

Malioboro is a place where people to come shop. Malioboro street over so many things to buy with affordable prices. Here’s tips:

looking some batik to take home, as a souvenir, Bringhardjo Market is the right place for you. From house dresses to formal
batik wear, this street has them all. Batik provided in various sorts such as bags, table cloths, bed sheets, pillow covers, curtains, and many more.

batik, jewelry, keychains, posters, wayang, decoration items such as
transportation miniature can be found in Malioboro.

enjoy Malioboro's nightlife and street musicians. It's an experience you won’t forget.
Some of the local specialties cuisines, include:
- Gudeg, a Yogya speciality, and
- (Langgi Rice), this is warm rice served with various side dishes, it’s also known as “Nasi Kucing”.

HISTORICAL SITES
After finished shopping and having culinary in Malioboro, you can go to the south of Malioboro, because there are lots of cool historical sites, such as the Gedung Agung Presidential Palace of Indonesia, March Eleven Monument, the Kingdom Ngayogyakarta or we called it “Keraton Yogyakarta”,
and Taman Sari.
